چکیده

Two different electro-biological signal based Interfaces for impaired people were developed: EMG and EEG based. Such interfaces present like main characteristics relatively simple acquisition and processing systems, which need of few hardware and software resources, so that they are computational and financial low cost solutions. Both interfaces have been applied to robotic systems (emulating a robotic wheelchair) and their performance has been shown in such applications. The EMG based interface was tested in a mobile robot (emulating a wheelchair), while the EEG based interface was tested as much in a mobile robot as a robotic manipulator (emulating a manipulator

EEG Based Brain Computer Interface Hand Grasp Control: Feature Extraction Method MTCSP

Brain-Computer Interfaces (BCIs) are communication systems, which enable users to send commands to computers by using brain activity only; this activity being generally measured by Electroencephalography (EEG). BCIs are generally designed according to a pattern recognition approach, i.e., by extracting features from EEG signals, and by using a classifier to identify the user’s mental state from...

Development of a Real-Time Brain-Computer Interface for Interactive Robot Therapy: An Exploration of EEG and EMG Features during Hypnosis

This study presents a framework for development of a new generation of therapy robots that can interact with users by monitoring their physiological and mental states. Here, we focused on one of the controversial methods of therapy, hypnotherapy. Hypnosis has shown to be useful in treatment of many clinical conditions. But, even for healthy people, it can be used as an effective technique for r...

Selecting and Extracting Effective Features of SSVEP-based Brain-Computer Interface

User interfaces are always one of the most important applied and study fields of information technology. The development and expansion of cognitive science studies and functionalization of its tools such as BCI1, as well as popularization of methods such as SSVEP2 to stimulate brain waves, have led to using these techniques every day, especially in appropriate solutions for physically and menta...
